Embodied Academy Membership: Terms of Service

Effective date: September 1, 2026

Last updated: October 7, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Embodied Academy ("Embodied Academy," "we," "us," or "our"). They cover your use of embodiedacademy.com, our checkout pages, our free programs (such as the HOME Body Challenge), and the Embodied Academy Membership (the "Membership"), including our member portal and community (together, the "Services").

By signing up, buying a Membership, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy at https://embodiedacademy.com/privacy-policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who we are

Embodied Academy is an online membership for embodied living. It offers dance, somatic practices, movement, breathwork, meditation, and community.

  • Business name: Embodied Academy
  • Email: [email protected]

2. What the Membership includes

Every Membership plan currently includes:

  • Access to our on-demand library of somatic and embodied movement sessions, including dance flows, somatic practices, meditations, breathwork, and movement sessions.
  • Access to a private online community space.
  • Live classes in the HOME Method, plus periodic live workshops.
  • Recordings of live classes, uploaded to the member portal.
  • Founding Members also receive founding member bonuses.

The Membership is delivered through our member portal hosted on Mighty Networks. Live classes are held on Zoom. You may also need to accept the platform's own terms to use it.

We may add, change, or remove content, classes, features, or schedules over time. Our library will change as it grows. If we make a change that takes away a major part of the Membership, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.

3. Free programs and free library access

We sometimes offer free programs, such as the free 4-Day HOME Body Challenge. People who sign up may get free access to the Embodied Academy library for a limited time. Free access:

  • does not require payment and does not turn into a paid Membership automatically;
  • ends at the end of the stated period; and
  • may be changed or ended by us at any time.

4. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to buy or use a Membership.
  • You agree to give accurate information when you sign up and to keep it current.
  • Your Membership is for you only. Do not share your login, give others access to your account, or let others watch member content using your account. Do not share content outside the Membership. We may suspend or end accounts that are shared.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens in your account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone has used your account without permission.

5. Plans, pricing, and billing

Plans currently offered:

PlanPriceBilling
Monthly Membership$33 per monthCharged every month
Founding Membership$197 per yearCharged every year
Annual Membership$396 per yearCharged every year

All prices are in US dollars and do not include taxes, which may be added where required.

Founding Membership. The Founding Membership rate is limited to the first 100 members and to members who join before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on October 20, 2026. Your Founding rate of $197 per year stays the same for as long as your Membership stays active and paid without a break. If you cancel, or your Membership ends because a payment fails and is not fixed, the Founding rate ends. If you rejoin later, you will pay the price in effect at that time.

Payment. Card payments are processed by Stripe. You may also be able to pay with PayPal where that option is shown at checkout. We do not store your full card number.

6. Automatic renewal

Your Membership renews automatically until you cancel.

  • The Monthly Membership renews every month, and we will charge your payment method $33 (or the current monthly price) on the same day each month.
  • The Founding Membership renews every year, and we will charge your payment method $197 on the anniversary of your signup.
  • The annual Membership renews every year, and we will charge your payment method $396 (or the current annual price) on the anniversary of your signup.
  • By buying a Membership, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
  • We will email you a reminder at least 30 days before each annual renewal.

Price changes. Except for the Founding rate described above, we may change Membership prices. We will tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may try again and may pause or end your access until payment is made.

7. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time.

  • How: Cancel from your account dashboard in Mighty Networks, or email us at [email protected].
  • When it takes effect: Cancellation stops future charges. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Cancelling a Founding Membership ends the Founding rate (see Section 5).

8. Refunds

All payments are final and non-refundable, except as stated in Section 15 or where required by applicable law. This includes monthly and annual payments, and partly used billing periods. When you cancel, future renewals stop and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Nothing in these Terms takes away any consumer right you have under the laws where you live that cannot be waived.

9. Health and wellness disclaimer

Please read this section carefully.

Embodied Academy offers movement, dance, somatic practices, breathwork, meditation, and related educational content. It is for general wellness and education only. It is not medical care, physical therapy, psychotherapy, mental health treatment, or a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our guides are movement and embodiment practitioners; they are not acting as your doctor, therapist, or other licensed health professional in the Membership.

Talk to your doctor first before starting any new movement or breathwork practice, especially if you are pregnant, injured, recovering from surgery, or have any medical, heart, breathing, seizure, or mental health condition.

  • Breathwork can cause dizziness, tingling, lightheadedness, or strong emotions. Do not practice breathwork while driving, in water, or anywhere it would be unsafe to lose focus. Stop if you feel unwell.
  • Somatic and emotional work may bring up strong feelings or memories. If you are in crisis or dealing with trauma, please reach out to a qualified mental health professional. If you are in an emergency, call your local emergency number.
  • Listen to your body. Move within your own range. Stop any practice that causes pain or discomfort. You choose what you do, and you are responsible for your own physical and emotional wellbeing while practicing.
  • Make sure your practice space is safe and clear.

By using the Services, you confirm that you take part voluntarily and understand that physical activity, breathwork, and emotional exploration carry inherent risks, including injury, dizziness, and strong emotions. You are responsible for choosing practices that suit your body and for stopping if something does not feel right. This does not limit our responsibility for injury caused by our negligence, as described in Section 17, or any rights you have under law that cannot be waived.

10. No guarantee of results

People experience embodiment practices differently. Testimonials and stories on our site share individual experiences (some from our in-person retreats and classes, not the online Membership) and are not typical or guaranteed results. We do not promise any particular outcome, including less stress or anxiety, better health, or any emotional, physical, or personal result.

11. Our content and your license to use it

All content in the Services, including videos, audio, classes, recordings, written materials, the HOME Method, our names, logos, and designs, belongs to Embodied Academy or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

While your Membership is active, we give you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to stream and use the content for your own personal, non-commercial practice. You may not:

  • download, copy, record, screen-capture, share, sell, or post our content anywhere else, unless we offer a download button for that item;
  • use our content to teach classes, run workshops, train others, or create a competing product;
  • remove any copyright or other notices; or
  • use our content or names in any way that suggests we endorse you.

If you are a teacher or practitioner and want to use our material with your own clients, please ask us first at [email protected].

12. Live classes and recordings

Live classes and workshops are recorded and posted in the member portal so members can practice later. If you join with your camera or microphone on, or post in chat, your image, voice, name, and comments may appear in the recording. If you prefer not to appear, keep your camera and microphone off and use a display name you are comfortable with.

By joining a recorded session, you agree that we may record it, and you give Embodied Academy a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, edit, and share these recordings, in whole or in part, inside the Membership and in our marketing, including on our website, social media, emails, and ads. When we use a recording in marketing, we will blur or remove your name unless you have told us we can show it. We will not use what you share in a recording to describe your personal health or emotional details in our marketing without your separate written permission.

You can withdraw this permission at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will then stop using recordings of you in new marketing and remove them from our website and active ads and social posts within 30 days. We cannot recall materials already distributed or shared by others.

13. Community guidelines

Our community is meant to be a kind, safe, and supportive space. When you take part, you agree to:

  • treat others with respect and kindness;
  • keep what others share in the community private and not share it outside the community;
  • not post anything hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, or illegal;
  • not give medical, psychological, or legal advice as if you were a professional;
  • not spam, advertise, sell, or recruit members for other programs or businesses without our permission;
  • not impersonate anyone or post other people's private information; and
  • follow the rules of the community platform (Mighty Networks).

We may remove posts, and may warn, suspend, or remove members who break these guidelines, at our discretion.

Your posts. You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, and share your posts inside the Services so the community can work. Other members can see what you share, so share only what you are comfortable with, especially personal or health information.

You also give us permission to quote, excerpt, or screenshot your posts and comments and use them in our marketing, including on sales pages, social media, emails, and ads. When we do, we will blur or remove your name and photo unless you have told us we can show them. We will not use posts that reveal personal health or emotional details in our marketing without asking you first.

You can withdraw your permission for marketing use by emailing [email protected]. We will then stop using your content in new marketing and remove it from our website and active ads and social posts within 30 days. Copies may remain in backups for a limited time, and we cannot recall materials already distributed or shared by others.

14. Third-party platforms

The Membership relies on outside services, such as Mighty Networks (member portal and community), Zoom, and our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their outages, errors, or practices, but we will do our best to help if something goes wrong.

15. Ending or suspending access

We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms (including sharing your login or our content), do not pay, or act in a way that harms other members or us. If we end your Membership without cause, or stop offering the Membership, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period. If we end it because you broke these Terms, you will not get a refund, except where required by applicable law.

We may also stop offering the Membership. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice.

16. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not make any promises beyond those in these Terms, including that the Services will always be available, error-free, or meet your needs.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill; and
  • our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Nothing in Section 9 or anywhere else in these Terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

18. Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs (including legal fees) if a claim is made against us because you broke these Terms or misused the Services, to the extent the law allows.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make important changes, we will tell you by email or in the member portal at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Services after that, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel.

20. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree that the courts of the Province of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about these Terms or the Services. If you are a consumer, this does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live, or any right you have under those laws to bring a claim in your local courts.

Before filing a claim, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to fix the problem informally.

21. Other terms

  • If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a part of these Terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You may not transfer your Membership or these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.
  • These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.

22. Text messages

If you opt in, Embodied Academy may send you text messages about class reminders, program updates, and offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help, or email [email protected]. Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of buying a Membership. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. See our Privacy Policy for how we use your phone number.
